Period fire installed with new white marble surround and boxed and liped slate hearth. The hearth has expansion allowances thus reducing the risk of it cracking. A new fireback was cast into the fire as part of restoration work prior to installing the fire. Ventilation was installed under the bay windows. The chimney breast was replastered after installation.
Period fire installed with new Milner fireback. It was to be converted to gas coal effect after installation. The fireback was replaced so that a standard gas insert could be fitted. All the backs of tiles etc are sealed prior to fitting and the fireplace is sealed into the chimney breast thus making the installation gas tight.
Period fireplace and marble surround. We always infill the back of the fire with a insulative vamiculite, sand and cement mix. Alll hearths dimensions comply with building regulations.
All installations are given a HETAS certificate and a plaque is installed in the house as per building regulations.
