Hunter Kestrel stove fitted in Llandaff North Cardiff using a flexible lining. We removed the tiled fireplace and hearth and opened up the recess. Unfortunatley the side walls were in very poor condition and had to be rendered. We completed all rendering and plastering. The hearth was supplied by us in 5 pieces of polished slate. The customer cleaned up the brickwork on the back face of the recess. The stove was bought on line with my guidance and was purchased after the recess was opened up. Purchasing the stove after the recess was opened up enabled us to guarantee 100% compliance with building regulations and gave a more sweepable chimney which will not collect as much soot on its wall.

Period fire installed with new white marble surround and boxed and liped slate hearth.  The hearth has expansion allowances thus reducing the risk of it cracking. A  new fireback was cast into the fire as part of restoration work prior to installing the fire. Ventilation was installed under the bay windows. The chimney breast was replastered after installation.

Period fire installed with new Milner fireback. It was to be converted to gas coal effect after installation. The fireback was replaced so that a standard gas insert could be fitted. All the backs of tiles etc are sealed prior to fitting and the fireplace is sealed into the chimney breast thus making the installation gas tight.

Installation of a Hunter Hawk stove with flexible liner in Caerleon. In this case the recess was not prepared by us but of course we can do this. It is usually best to at least get the right advice before undertaking the preparation work and hearth installation as this can lead to expensive mistakes. I have to ensure full compliance with building regulations to sign off on an installation. Of course advice can also be given on the selection of a stove, again it is always best to seek this advice before purchasing a stove.
