Chimney sweeping.

  • I offer  the highest standard of customer care. Plenty of time is scheduled in to clean your chimney. You will not feel the job has been rushed. I pride myself on arriving on time and if I am running late I will try to ring you.
  • I am a National Association of Chimney Sweeps (NACS) registered sweep and issue a certificate with evey sweep. If you are unhappy with any aspect of the sweeping service you can of course complain to NACS who are an independent body and regarded as the main professional body for sweeping. 
  • Every sweep includes a basic smoke test and written report. Please note that this type of smoke test does not guarantee the flue is gas tight. However it can show faults on the flue/ appliance.
  • I cover the floor area around the fireplace and use different colour coded covers for the furniture/ electrical equipment. The covers are purely precautionary.
  • I sweep the chimney with a bush sized for your flue and clean up with an industrial vacuum cleaner afterwards. 
  • I give the same attention to your chimney as I do to my equipment. Please take a look inside my van!

Pressure testing of flues.

  • If you live in an older property and the chimney has not been lined, you may wish to have a more advanced form of smoke test conducted which will involve accessing the roof and checking the full length of the flue. The test will be conducted in accordance with the British standard and a two page NACS smoke test certificate issued. The certificate covers 2 pages and includes items such as a sketch of the stack and comments on the test.

Solid fuel installation work.

  • As a HETAS registered installer I am entitled to line chimneys and install open grates and stoves. A HETAS certificate is issued with each installation and a plaque posted in the building. Within 7 days a copy of the certificate is sent  to HETAS and within 30 days the local authority will be informed of the installation by HETAS. Should  you sell the house in the future then the certificate is placed in the HIP.
